David Guetta - David Guetta Sets Download Record

French DJ David Guetta has been revealed as the most downloaded dance artist in history in a new study by Nokia's Ovi Music Store.

David Guetta is the most downloaded dance artist in history.

The chart-topping French DJ - who has achieved three number one hits in the UK, collaborating with Kelly Rowland, Akon and the Black Eyed Peas' Fergie - accounts for almost half of all dance music downloads, according to Nokia's Ovi Music Store.

Following the 'When Love Takes Over' hitmaker were Cascada and La Roux in second and third places respectively.

Geoff Roberts, Ovi musicologist, said:"This trends snapshot reveals a growing interest in dance music across the world which has traditionally been a niche genre online.

"Artists such as David Guetta are helping bring dance music to the masses, spiking an increase in downloads over the past year. This is only going to increase as we get deeper into festival season - last year dance music downloads peaked between May and September, and this trend looks like it is set to continue this year."

Former Destiny's Child songstress Kelly Rowland recently revealed the first time she heard the instrumental version of 'When Love Takes Over' she was so overcome with emotion that she cried.

She said:"It brought tears to my eyes! After that I asked him if I could have the track and I brought it with me to London. The next thing I knew, I wrote a song to it and I sent it back to him and the next thing, it was history."

Kelly Rowland - Kelly Rowland Denies Destiny Rumours

Singer Kelly Rowland has hit back at claims Destiny's Child will not reunite saying she and her band mates will decide their future.

Kelly Rowland has dismissed claims there will never be a Destiny's Child reunion.

The 'Dilemma' singer who has had solo chart success away from the group, has retaliated to claims made by Matthew Knowles - the group's manager - that they will never reunite.

Speaking to Perez Hilton, Kelly explained:"Well Matthew Knowles is not a member of Destiny's child so with all due respect that's not a decision he can make - that's up to myself, Beyonce and Michelle."

Kelly also promised Perez her new album would be"more varied."

She said:"I wanted to make sure I had a proper balance, 'cause I couldn't forgot about the R'n'B and Urban side - Destiny Child and early Kelly Rowland projects, but when I experience dance music was like nothing else - and it was very natural."

Last week, Matthew, who is also father of Beyonce Knowles told Entertainment Tonight:"Contrary to rumours online of a Destiny's Child reunion, there are no plans for the group to reunite for a performance or album - the rumours are false."

The band went their separate ways in 2006 and since then lead singer Beyonce has gone onto to have three solo albums and appeared in numerous films including 'Austin Powers: Gold Member'. Michelle Williams has also recorded solo albums and appeared in the West End musical of Chicago.

Kelly worked with rapper Nelly and most recently DJ David Guetta for her dance single 'Commander.'

He said:"Lady Gaga, she's a freak. So I thought, 'Gotta make a freaky song!'

"First I thought, let me just give them a soft mix. And they were like 'No - we want that crazy Afrojack vibe', and so I went really crazy. I was even in the studio like, 'This is pretty damn hard'.

"I sent it and they were like 'F**k yeah.'"

Tinie Tempah - Tinie Tempah Leads Uma Nominations

Tinie Tempah leads the way at this year's Urban Music Awards, picking up four nominations including Best Newcomer and Best Music Video.

Newcomer Tinie Tempah has received a record four nominations at this year's Urban Music Awards.

The London rapper has been nominated for Best Newcomer, Best Collaboration for his single 'Pass Out', Best HipHop Act and Best Music Video for his single 'Frisky.'

Tinie, who burst into the music scene earlier this year with his UK number one single 'Pass Out', said:"I am extremely excited to be nominated for this year. It's like a dream come true. The Urban Music Awards has always been the breaking ground for artists worldwide and I have always wanted to be at the UMA's. Thanks to all the fans who nominated me and I can't wait till the show in September."

Former 'X Factor' rivals, Alexandra Burke and JLS will battle it out in the Best Album category, while Rihanna and The Black Eyed Peas have both been nominated for Best International Act.

This year will be the eighth Urban Music Awards ceremony and all nominations are voted for by music fans.

Jordan Kensington, Founder of Urban Music Awards said:"In 1999, it was a hard task convincing sponsors, media, and labels and booking agents to showcase UK urban music. There was virtually no other awards show prepared to support UK urban artists. All awards shows had a more US biased agenda. We risked it all on the belief that if everybody fails to see the quality of our acts, we would work our hardest to make sure the scene got the recognition it deserves and now it's finally paid off."

The Urban Music Awards will be held on September 18th.

Kelly Rowland - David Guetta Made Kelly Rowland Cry

Kelly Rowland has admitted she cried the first time she heard 'When Love Takes Over', as she immediately knew she wanted to collaborate with dance legend David Guetta.

Kelly Rowland says hearing 'When Love Takes Over' for the first time brought tears to her eyes.

The former Destiny's Child star - who scored a number one hit with the house tune alongside iconic DJ David Guetta - revealed the first time she heard the instrumental version of the track at a nightclub in the South of France, she was so overcome with emotion that she knew she wanted to be a part of it.

She said:"It brought tears to my eyes! After that I asked him if I could have the track and I brought it with me to London. The next thing I knew, I wrote a song to it and I sent it back to him and the next thing, it was history."

The 'Commander' hitmaker - who has dabbled in a range of genres since embarking upon her solo career in 2002 - admitted the best thing about finding her niche in dance music is seeing people's reaction to her tracks.

She told Britain's The Independent newspaper:"It started with travelling with David and getting a chance to see people's emotional reaction to the music. That completely made me intoxicated!

"When people want to stand on each other's shoulders and go crazy and they're sweating and they're having a good time, that's all that counts.

"You feel so much love in the crowd! It's such a good feeling, and that's what I want my music to do."

David Guetta - Guetta Fears Madonna Collaboration Will Never Be Released

DAVID GUETTA fears his recent collaboration with MADONNA will never be made available for fans - because of the superstar's record contract wrangles.

The French DJ teamed up with the Queen of Pop to record a new song after she specifically requested to work with him following his chart success with Kelly Rowland and Akon.

But Guetta is worried the track will never be released as Madonna's record contract with Warner Bros. has expired - and even if she negotiates a new deal with another company, her previous label will hold the rights to the song.

He tells Britain's The Guardian,"It's a tricky situation, because she's now out of a record deal. We don't even know what's going to happen with it. It's a huge record, so it's really frustrating.

"The track is part of the Warner deal, but it's not on the album, so why would they invest any money in it? I was really unlucky with that one."

Madonna recently opened up about her expired record deal, insisting she is concentrating on her career as a film director now and has no idea whether she will sign another music contract.

She said,"I don't have a record deal right now with anybody. I don't know how I'm going to get my music out the next time I make a record. I'm going to have to reinvent the wheel."

David Guetta - David Guetta And Madonna's Duet Problems

David Guetta duets with Madonna on track that may never been released due to money and management problems

David Guetta and Madonna have recorded a"huge"track together but it may never be released.

The DJ worked on a song with the Queen of Pop but it's believed the single will never be aired or released due to money problems within her management.

The 'Love is Gone' star explained:"It's a tricky situation, because she's now out of a record deal. We don't even know what's going to happen with it. It's a huge record, so it's really frustrating. The track is part of the Warner deal, but it's not on the album, so why would they invest any money in it? I was really unlucky with that one."

David also revealed that the US wanted him to change his sound before working with some of their artists.

He told the Guardian newspaper:"When I recorded 'Sexy B**ch' with Akon, his label said, 'You're going to have to adapt yourself to the American market. What we've done won't work in the US because of the style of the beat.' I told them they were wrong."

David has previously worked with Kelly Rowland, Kelis and more recently Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas. Their single 'Getting Over You' was released in the UK this week and received a million hits in 48 hours on YouTube.
